There were some storms in our data center area with very heavy lightening this weekend. We have UPS Power and Surge protectors throughout the data center for these emergencies. When lightening struck close to the data center, there was a power disruption. All of our protectors but one functioned. That one malfunctioning UPS protector caused three servers to shut off. Two of them came up with no problems, but the third one with the nameservers above would not reboot due to errors in some of the BLKS. We tried running FSCK manually on the server trying to repair the dirty BLKS. After several hours of manual tries at fixes, we determined that several BLKS on the hard disk are unreadable and the hard disk would not reboot. Therefore, we had to replace the hard disk, rebuild the server, re-install PLesk 7. The new server is now online and you can get to the control panel. However, the accounts are being added manually by our staff back to the server. Your account will be added back to its shell account or original state (The way it was when you bought the account).

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

1. THE ACCOUNTS WILL NOT ALL COME ONLINE AT THE SAME TIME. EACH ONE IS BEING ADDED MANUALLY TO THE SERVER. AS THERE ARE OVER 850 ACCOUNTS THAT ARE BEING MANUALLY SETUP ON THE SERVER BY OUR STAFF, THIS WILL TAKE TIME TO COMPLETE.

2. GETTING TO THE CONTROL PANEL OF THE SERVER MEANS THE SERVER HAS BEEN REBUILT AND IS ONLINE NOT THAT YOUR ACCOUNT IS ALLREADY ADDED TO THE SERVER.

3. WHEN YOU CAN TYPE YOUR DOMAIN NAME IN YOUR BROWSER ADDRESS AREA ON YOUR COMPUTER AND GET THE PAGE THAT SAYS:

This is the placeholder for domain (Your full domain name will be here). If you see this page after uploading site content you probably have not replaced the index.html file.

THEN YOUR ACCOUNT HAS BEEN ADDED TO THE REBUILT SERVER AND YOU CAN USE THE INFORMATION GIVEN IN THIS ANNOUNCEMENT TO UPLOAD YOUR ACCOUNT TO THE SERVER VIA THE BACKUP/RESTORE IF YOU HAVE THAT FEATURE OR BY THE FTP OR FRONTPAGE INFORMATION IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE BACKUP/RESTORE FEATURE.

This is a Plesk 7 server and it offers the capability of backup/restore to accounts on the server. This feature came with the Business Builder and Business Pro accounts and could be ordered with the Business Starter accounts. This feature has been available since this server was put online over a year ago. It has been viewable in your control panel in grey even if you did not have the feature. We have also run specials throughout the year offering this feature for less than its full price and emailed each user on this server about the special and advertised it in announcements at the beginning of the help desk. I hope that many of you took advantage of this backup/restore feature as it will allow you to quickly restore your site, email, databases, and all data content back to the server as it was the last time you backed up your site.

The original hard drive in the server was replaced, the old one had sector and BLK problems and the data could not be read or retrieved from it nor could it be rebooted. Any data not backed up by you by using the backup/restore system available on this server or backed up by the customer in some other way is lost and not recoverable. THIS INCLUDES ALL SITE DATA, EMAILS STORED ON THE SERVER AND ALL DATABASES AND DATABASE DATA.
